Colossians 1:27 contains one of the most startling claims in Scripture: “the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages… is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Not Christ near you. Not Christ for you only. Christ in you.
Contemplative practice is simply the lifelong process of waking up to this already-given reality. Spiritual direction helps people move from knowing the verse to living inside the truth of it. When the mystery becomes more than a concept, life begins to shine with a deeper unmistakable glory, and ordinary moments begin to hold the presence of Christ.
